Following completion of rotating internship at the Royal Columbian Hospital, Dr. Ryder established the first emergency physician program in BC at the RCH, then established the second emergency physician program at Burnaby General Hospital in 1970. For 12 years he worked as a full-time Emergency Physician.
Adding specialized training in environmental medicine, Dr. Ryder opened a referral only practice with full-spectrum allergy testing including food and chemical testing. Dr Ryder’s practice then expanded with further training including European biological medicine which involves the use of nonprescription medications such as standardized herbal medications to deal with a wide range of medical issues. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia designated Dr. Ryder a medical consultant.
Since officially retiring from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2014, Dr. Ryder has continued this integrative medicine practice.

Dr. Ryder has documented natural immunity to Covid, because of his Covid infection in January 2022. He also has official documentation for positive PCR test; as well as subsequent LifeLab positive antibody test. All staff members are double-vaccinated.
